Are you an Independent Thinker since Exiting JW's - Or Still a Follower ?
by flipper inmy wife and i are finishing reading an excellent book titled " deep healing " by emmett e. miller, m. d. the essence of this book is showing how our mind and body works in synchronicity with our mental health affecting our physical well being.. he also addresses the issue of how " group mentality " or peer pressure can influence seemingly " normal " people to totally ignore reality and allow a " group " of people to coerce them into believing an untruth.
this experiment was conducted in a college by psychology professors .
called the " red hatted thief " it went as follows :.

How can someone be sure that he will survive in Armageddon?
by XPeterX indon't know what to say...most jw's i asked looked down and said in a bit silent voice that they don't know or that it doesn't depend on them.another jw said that if "i die in armageddon so be it.
"what do you believe?.

I didn't think I would survive. But so be it. I don't believe in Armageddon at the present.

A better way of doing it, with regards to the 'God' question. If you're a theist or deist, please answer this question.
by Psychotic Parrot inwhy are you a theist or a deist?
please give any or all reasons why without resorting to a god of the gaps argument.
that is the only condition i am making, since in my (& presumably every other atheist's) opinion, a god of the gaps argument simply isn't convincing enough to demonstrate that there is a god, only that there might be a god.. thank you.. p.s.

I have to say I didn't really enjoy or not enjoy it was just what and who I was. Some people were friendly but I have few friends and because we did stand up for what we believed and I did. I also stood up for what I believed in the congregation which didn't help.
I liked the closeness to God I felt. I liked the feeling of cleanliness in the congregation.

A Message To All Creationists
by Megachusen inrecently i read the following from themadjw's retarded website:.
"no one would claim that the simplest device- such as, say, a pen, could ever come about, given all eternity, by accident!".
wow!

I thought time was related to our Universe and time began at the big bang, which I thought was the beginning of our Universe. I think I remember reading that if you go far enough in the Universe time could run backwards and time runs at different times depending where you are so to speak.
So does eternity exist without time? I could be totally misunderstanding these concepts.
